Sided and Molded

Two terms used to describe the thickness of a given part. The sided dimension of a part is a constant thickness throughout the part; i.e., the side-to-side thickness of a framei is the sided dimension. The moldedi dimension is the varying thickness of the piece as cut and is usually at right angles to the skin of the boat; i.e., the dimension of a framei measured from the skin of the hull inboard is the moldedi dimension.
